Review: Early Bird Cafe

This morning for my review I thought I’d go to small town locally owned cafe in South Berwick, Maine(the owner lives in the same town). I ordered their weekend special, the Italian Benedict. It’s two over easy eggs on top of grilled ciabatta bread, grilled zucchini, prosciutto and topped off with hollandaise and homemade tomato relish. The hollandaise was the perfect combination of flavor and texture. The homemade tomato relish added the perfect amount of acidity and kick to the dish. The eggs were cooked perfectly, with yolks that weren’t too runny. The ciabatta was grilled perfectly; not overdone like a brick and still soft enough to cut with a butter knife. I would highly recommend this place as a perfect takeout destination restaurant(right now they are only takeout due to COVID; normally they do have indoor seating). Reasonable prices for someone on a fixed budget.
