Our Music Director

Being raised in a small Baptist church was the beginning of her love for music!  Lisa’s dad was the “music man” at the church and always led the “singspirations”, sang in the choir, did solo work and sang in the community.  She knows that it is in her blood!

Singing around the piano when she got older (and was able to play for the family) was a mainstay at family gatherings.  These things taught her the importance of family and the joy that music could bring to the soul.  She and her husband, John, always have music playing at the house and their  three kids have taken to the common way they operate by playing music and singing whenever they can.  They even succeed in 5 part harmony at times!  It is HEAVENLY!

For Lisa, music is the language of the soul and of God.  To be the Music Director at First Congregational Church of Eliot these first ten years has, she says, “been such a blessing to her.”

She takes great joy in the gift of being able to share such a deep love of music and feels fully embraced by the choir, the congregation and the community.

Lisa has a talent for bringing out the best song and the best soul from everyone who connects with music and as a wide ensemble of people who come to FCCE and offer their musical gifts to God.

She can be found at the piano, where her dog Buster often accompanies her, at the microphone singing praises or working hard leading the choir.

She also serves as a deacon, the chair of the fundraising team and serves FCCE as the Ministry Coordinator.   She makes small church ministry come alive with the best soundtrack ever!

She joyfully proclaims, “God is good and alive at First Congregational Church of Eliot!  Rock on!”
