Welcome

We embrace yesterday’s tradition, today’s mission, and tomorrow’s hope. Our congregation is filled with friends, members and visitors seeking to enter into a deeper relationship with God and with God’s people and we have been saving a place especially for you. We invite you on the journey of belonging, believing and becoming.

At First Congregational Church of Eliot (FCCE), we explore and deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ through worship, music, prayer, learning and service as we support and care for one another in life’s joys and challenges. We are grounded in the Good News of God’s grace and love for all people. Our worship services seek to connect, inspire, comfort and challenge us to live our faith in daily life.

Together we ask God each week, for the strength and grace to wrestle a blessing from the Word and for the courage to take that Word out into the world, where we pray the God of our mothers and fathers will be the God of our children. We then go out into the world to put our hands and hearts to action, guided by the Holy Spirit.

Through dynamic multi-generational programs, excellence in music, inspirational worship, and global outreach, we strive to offer a progressive, thoughtful theology that welcomes all peoples while giving them the security of a Christ-centered, traditional heritage that reaches back over 200 years into our neighborhood’s life. There is a place for all of God’s people within our warm faith community and our door is always open.

Striving to grow in faith and deepen relationship with God and the world around us, we model the body of Christ in our inclusiveness of the gifts of all people and in our relationships with one another as a covenant community. Everyone, absolutely everyone, is invited to join in the common life and mission of our reconciling community through participation and leadership in this congregation, and by fully sharing in the worship, rites and sacraments of this church. In our teaching, preaching and reaching, we won’t tell you what to believe, but we promise to walk with you as you take your faith journey. I invite you in – and more importantly – so does God. At First Congregational Church of Eliot, United Church of Christ, we are saving a place just for you.
